Congress candidate from Bhopal Digvijaya Singh doesn’t own a car but has assets worth Rs 8.89 crore. His wife Amrita Rai has assets worth Rs 2.04 crore. These facts came forward through an affidavit filed with returning officer on Saturday. According to the aff idavit, Singh’s in come reduced from Rs 8 lakh in 2016-17 to Rs 6.57 lakh in 2017-18. He has cash of Rs 4,75,111 and Rs 32.57 lakh are deposited in various banks. He has investment of Rs 4.07 lakh in form of shares etc. His investment in post offices and policies etc is mentioned as Rs 2.96 lakh. He earned Rs 44.51 lakh from other sources.

Overall cash, bank deposit and investment of Digvijaya Singh is estimated at Rs 88, 87,596 while that of his wife Amrita is Rs 1,05,85, 357. Amrita owes Rs 44.50 lakh to Digvijaya. His wife Amrita has Rs 39,500 cash and Rs 39.32 lakh deposited in banks and investments to the tune of Rs 1 lakh. Her investment in post office or policies is Rs 18.90 lakh and she earned Rs 12.50 lakh from other sources.
Wife Amrita Rai’s incom e too came down from Rs 11.65 lakh in 2016-17 to Rs 6.96 lakh in 2017-18. Agriculture income in 2017-18 was Rs 6.27 lakh.Criminal antecedents mentioned in his affidavit include two cases registered in Jehangirabad and Shyamla Hill police station. Two cases are registered in Hyderabad, one in Bihar and Haryana each. He owns immovable property worth Rs 2,95,21,858 while wife owns property worth Rs 98.50 lakh. He has also mentioned ancestral property worth Rs 25,31,04,622 in the affidavit.
