Bhopal: Much to their annoyance, the passengers at the Bhopal main railway station had to bear the high decibel sloganeering as the Congress party activists shouted slogans in favour of their leaders here on Monday. Presence of hundreds of Congress workers and their high voltage sloganeering led to commotion at the railway station. Amidst deafening slogan shouting, the passengers had tough time as they tried to make their way through overcrowded platform.
The Congress activists were here at the busy railway station to accord a rousing welcome to AICC general secretary and state in-charge Deepak Bawaria, who is here on two-day tour to look into the party preparations for the 2018 assembly elections. In a display of strength, the supporters of Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia raised slogans in favour of their leaders, while followers of former PCC president Suresh Pachouri also made their presence felt as they raised slogans in full volume for their leader.Bawaria, who arrived here by Rajkot express, is scheduled to hold several meetings with the party functionaries and the leaders. This is his first visit to Bhopal after his appointment as state in-charge. The Congress leaders including additional PRO Rajesh Mishra and PRO Pradeep Tamta have also reached Bhopal to attend these meetings where major decisions in connection with the polls are to be taken.

The party workers had gathered at platform no 4 to greet the leader. When the train arrived, the railway station reverberated as supporters of Kamal Nath and Scindia raised slogans in favour of their leaders, joining the chorus were the supporters of Pachouri. However, the showcase of power turned ugly as the Congress workers came to blows One Congress supporter was allegedly beaten by the supporters of Pachori.
In a race to welcome the Bawaria, the party activists jammed the gate of the compartment making it almost impossible for the Congress leader to disembark from the train. Later he went to another gate to step down from the train. PCC president Arun Yadav, who was also there to greet Bawaria failed to meet the leader. The ruckus at the station left Bawaria fuming, who lambasting at the party workers asked them to stop raising slogans. Even PCC spokesperson JP Dhanopia and Ravi Saxena who had come to receive Rajesh Mishra could not reach him following huge commotion at the railway station.
While talking to media, Deepak Bawaria said that he had asked the supporters to stop raising slogans as it was causing huge inconvenience to other passengers. He claimed that the party workers were raising slogans in favour of party, vice president Rahul Gandhi and also for Scindia and Kamal Nath. When asked about the party face for 2018 election and new PCC president, he said “no comments”. When asked about groupsim in the party, he replied, “Every party is having their own group, but people always talks about the groupsim of the Congress party”.
