Bhopal: A 33-year-old woman allegedly lodged a false complaint of gang rape against four men in lieu of money offered by a man on Monday at Sukhisewaniya locality here. A 70-year-old man had offered Rs 3.20 lakh to the woman to lodge the false complaint to implicate the four men, who were the eye witness in a murder case, involving one of the relatives of the man, police said. According to superintendent of police (north) Arvind Saxena, on Sunday evening the 33-year-old woman lodged a complaint against the four men identified as Rajkumat, Jitendra, Ramesh and Ashish and alleged that they gang raped her at Pattan village near Vidisha, where she and her husband went to visit a locally famous temple.

“The woman in her complaint said that on the way to the temple, they saw the four men drinking liquor. Two of them caught her husband while the other two gang raped her. When the other two were about to take turns to rape her, the 70-year-old man, Babulal Yadav, who is accused of luring her with money, reached the spot and rescued the couple,” said Saxena. He further said that the woman initially stated that the four accused were unknown to her, but Yadav, while recording his statement named the four men as accused, raising suspicion among the police investigators.

“I felt something fishy in their accounts and the couple was interrogated by the police during which they broke down and narrated the entire truth. The woman, a resident of Sironj town in Vidisha district used to work as a servant in the house of a doctor in Sironj, where she met Yadav on May 19. Yadav explained the whole plan to the couple and offered Rs 20,000 for the job. He also paid them Rs 5,000 in advance and pormised to pay the remaining Rs 15,000 after the case is registered. He also lured her to the Rs 3 lakh, which government offers to any gang rape victim. On the morning of May 21, the three reached the spot near temple accroding to the plan and lodged the complaint with police in evening,” said Saxena.

Saxena further added that upon listening to the whole story, he came to know that a similar case was registered in Bairasia police station in June 2016. In that case too, the whole story was same as in this case. “In that case too, the man who rescued the victim was this 70-year-old Yadav. While digging deeper in the case, it was found that the four men who were booked and arrested in the previous case were the relatives of Jitendra, who was also framed in that case. In this case too one of the accused was Jitendra and his relatives. During investigation it was found that Jitendra and his relatives were eye-witness to a murder incident in which Yadav’s relatives were the accused. To take revenge, Yadav used to frame them in false gang rape cases,” said Saxena adding that police have now nabbed Yadav and the couple and would soon file a counter case against them for lodging a false complaint.
