Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to visit India this year to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations. It will be an informal summit on the lines of the informal parleys the two leaders had in Wuhan in China last year.

The indication came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
