A chilling video has surfaced online and gone viral showing a woman from Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh coming in contact with a King Cobra. While reading about the instance might be scary in itself for some, it would be shocking to know that the lady stayed still even after the snake closely approached her and wrapped itself around her leg. The viral footage showed the woman calmly sitting there in the presence of the fearful reptile and praying to Lord Shiva who carries the serpent king 'Vasuki' around his neck.

As the incident was observed in the holy month of Shravan or Sawan (dedicated to Lord Shiva), the video went viral with a religious catch to it. It is reported that the woman chanted prayers for 3 long hours until the snake was rescued.
King Cobra rescued and released in the forest
A distress call was made to alert experts about the snake's appearance in the residential area, following which necessary action was taken. On dialing 112 emergency service, the police arrived at the spot. With the assistance of a local snake charmer, the King Cobra was rescued and released into a nearby forest. No harm was caused to any individual.
