Lucknow, August 6: The Yogi government has taken another significant initiative towards modernizing and commercially strengthening Uttar Pradesh's transport infrastructure. The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has invited tenders under the PPP model for the development of 18 modern premium bus stations and commercial complexes across the state in Phase 2. Through this, investors will get opportunities to invest not only in transport infrastructure but also in retail, hotels, food courts, office spaces, multiplexes and other commercial activities.

According to UPSRTC, these projects have an investment potential of more than Rs 1,100 crore. The proposed bus stations, equipped with modern passenger amenities, are planned to be developed at prominent and commercial locations in various cities. This is expected to provide better facilities to bus passengers while also accelerating economic and commercial activities in the respective cities.

One of the key features of the scheme is a concession period of up to 90 years. To provide investors with long-term and stable commercial opportunities, commercial spaces will be developed within these projects for activities such as retail, hotels, food courts, office spaces and multiplexes. This will enable the bus stations to evolve beyond being merely transit points into modern transit-commercial hubs.
