UP CM Yogi Adityanath Meets Singapore Envoy, Boosts Investment, Tourism, And Skill Cooperation Prospects

High Commissioner Wong described Chief Minister Yogi’s visit to Singapore in February as highly successful, stating that it conveyed a positive and reliable message about Uttar Pradesh not only in Singapore but also among industrial communities in neighboring countries.

Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath met Simon Wong, the High Commissioner of Singapore to India, during a courtesy call on Thursday. During the meeting, both sides held meaningful discussions on strengthening cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Singapore in areas such as investment, skill development, infrastructure, and cultural collaboration.

High Commissioner Wong described Chief Minister Yogi’s visit to Singapore in February as highly successful, stating that it conveyed a positive and reliable message about Uttar Pradesh not only in Singapore but also among industrial communities in neighboring countries.

He said, “The global industrial community now sees Uttar Pradesh as a center of new opportunities and possibilities, which will play an important role in taking India-Singapore relations to greater heights.”

He also appreciated the significant improvements made in the state over the past nine years under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, particularly in the areas of law and order, infrastructure, and industrial development.

He noted that Singaporean companies already operating in Uttar Pradesh have described the investment climate as favorable and are actively planning to expand their investments.

The High Commissioner further informed that a large industrial delegation from Singapore will soon visit Uttar Pradesh to explore investment opportunities across the state and work toward turning potential proposals into concrete investments.

He said, “Singapore is exploring possibilities of cooperation in skill development for the youth of the state, which would create new employment opportunities.”

In the context of cultural cooperation, both sides discussed the vast potential of Kushinagar and Sarnath as important Buddhist tourism destinations and agreed to further strengthen partnerships in the tourism sector. This collaboration could significantly increase the number of international tourists visiting the state.

During the meeting, it was also highlighted that a comprehensive investment roadmap is being prepared for regions including Noida, Greater Noida, Jhansi, and Varanasi, among others, to accelerate balanced and inclusive development across Uttar Pradesh.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that today Uttar Pradesh has emerged as one of the fastest-growing economies in the country, guided by the mantra of “Reform, Perform, Transform.” He said, “The state government is committed to providing investors with a secure, transparent, and industry-friendly environment.” Improved law and order, modern infrastructure, strong connectivity, and a skilled workforce make Uttar Pradesh an ideal destination for investment.

CM Yogi Adityanath further noted that the state’s developing industrial corridors, the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, expanding expressway network, and multimodal logistics hubs are providing world-class facilities for investors.

Describing Singapore as a world-class economic and technological partner, Chief Minister Yogi said, “The state government is ready for long-term and result-oriented cooperation with Singapore in areas such as industrial investment, urban development, logistics, skill development, and tourism.” He expressed confidence that the upcoming Singapore delegation’s visit would open new avenues of investment and partnership between the two sides.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also said that the combination of Singapore’s technological expertise and Uttar Pradesh’s vast potential would pave the way for mutually beneficial cooperation, setting new benchmarks in sustainable development, innovation and employment generation.
