Yes, you can use UPI for payment without the internet. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has brought a way for the same! Here's how you can make UPI payments without an internet connection.
First start by calling *99#. Keep in mind that your number should be registered with the bank.
Next, you need to select the language. You will get an option to select that. Then the correct number will appear on your phone screen. Write the number.
After that, you will get the option of many banking facilities. this includes transferring money, transactions and checking balance, among others. Now if you want to transfer money, type 1 and press Send.
Next you can choose the mode by which you want to send the money. For example, such as mobile number, or UPI ID, to a previously saved person or you can choose any other option. After choosing your desired option press Send.
In case you choose option of mobile number, you need the number of the person to whom you want to send the money. After this you need to click on Send.
Now enter the amount and send it. If you want, you can also add a remark for the payment.
Lastly, you need to enter your UPI PIN and complete the transaction.
Understanding NPCI
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) saw that the people of India have become dependent on UPI. Due to this reason they started a new service, in which you can make UPI payments even without the internet.
