Mumbai : Sacred Heart SC scored a hard-fought 2-1 win against Parsn FC in a Third Division qualifying league match of the MDFA League – 2014-15, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Thursday.
Striker Aaron Fernandes opened the scoring in the fifth minute to give Sacred Heart an early advantage. But, Parsn FC fought back and four minutes later managed to find the equaliser through Harshad Dudhwadkar.
A late goal by Elvis Rodrigues helped Sacred Heart snatch the win and the full three points.
Earlier in another match, Universal Sport Club had things much their own way as they trounced Holy Trinity Sports Club by a comfortable 3-0 margin.
The goals for Universal came through the efforts of Sanket Gaikwad, Henry James and Elton Dawson, all netting a goal each.
