India's legendary spinner, Harbhajan Singh, sparked controversy on Sunday after making a racially insensitive remark during the IPL 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). While commentating, Harbhajan compared England fast bowler Jofra Archer to a "black taxi," a statement that quickly drew backlash on social media.
The incident occurred during the 18th over of the first innings when Archer was bowling to SRH batters Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen. After Kishan hit Archer for consecutive boundaries, Harbhajan made the comment, saying, “London me kaali taxi ka meter tez bhaagta hai, Aur yaha pe Archer sahab ka meter bhi tez bhaaga hai” (Like the meter of London’s black taxis, Archer’s meter has also been on the higher side).
The remark did not go down well with fans, with many calling for Harbhajan's suspension from the IPL 2025 commentary panel. Here's how fans reacted to former India cricketers comment

Jofra Archer's unforgettable performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad
Archer had an expensive outing in the match, conceding 76 runs without picking up a wicket, marking one of the most expensive bowling performances in IPL history. His figures surpassed the previous record of 0/73 set by Mohit Sharma.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad set a record for the most 250-plus totals in T20 cricket, scoring 286/6 against Rajasthan missing out on their own IPL record for the highest team total by just two runs. Ishan Kishan played a key role, scoring his maiden IPL century in just 45 balls.
Rajasthan Royals did put a fightback with half-centuries from Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel. Even SHubham Dube scored unbeaten 34 runs off 11 balls. Despite all the efforts RR fell short of SRH's target by 44-runs .
