Mumbai: A suburban EMU local train derailed at Kurla railway station on Sunday. However, no casualties or injuries have been reported yet. The incident was reported at around 8.55 pm when train entered the Kurla railway station platform number 3. Sources from Central Railway said nearly 45 to 50 services on both line got canceled due to the derailment.
However, Sunil Udasi, CPRO, CR, confirmed the derailment but said only three to four services were cancelled. Aftre some women commuters drew station officials’ attention to sparks and flames coming out a switch board in ladies compartment, the train was halted. After the problem was resolved, the train resumed its journey towards CSMT.
