Thane: In a horrific accident at Thane station, a youth lost both his legs after falling into the platform gap while performing stunts on a moving Pune-Mumbai mail train. According to reports, the victim's foot slipped during the stunt, causing him to fall onto the tracks.
The video of the incident was shared by Jilha.Varta on Instagram. Reports stated that the youth was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while performing the stunt. The video showed the man in pain as people stood around him. The Railway Police rushed to the scene, and the victim was shifted to a nearby hospital. Currently, there is no further update on his condition.
Meanwhile, a reckless stunt performed by six youths on a single scooter in Bandra East triggered widespread concern. The incident, captured on video and widely circulated online, shows six young men precariously balancing on a Suzuki Burgman near the Bandra East Terminus Bridge, outside Railway Station Road.
Prior to that, in Navi Mumbai, four youths were booked by Nerul police for performing dangerous stunts from a moving car on a public road, after a video of the incident went viral on social media. Police registered a case and initiated action against the accused for endangering public safety. According to police, the video was recorded by an alert citizen and later circulated on social media, prompting immediate action.
Earlier in February, a carefree bike ride turned dangerous when a man suddenly performed a wheelie with a woman riding pillion. Caught off guard, she lost balance and became trapped between the seat and rear tyre, reportedly injuring her pelvic region. The viral video sparked outrage online, with many criticising reckless stunt riding and the couple’s failure to wear helmets.
