Bhayandar : In a major setback to the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in the run-up to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, its lone corporator in the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), Arvind Thakur, left his party to join the Shiv Sena on Thursday.
Elected on MNS Ticket from Ward Number 9, Thakur had initially voted in favour of the NCP-Congress alliance in the 2012 Mayoral polls, but had later jumped into the saffron bandwagon.
Thakur entered the Sena party fold in the presence of Yuva Sena leader, Aditya Thackeray, at a function held in Thane city.
“I am impressed by Adityaji’s style of functioning and his positive attitude towards efficiently tackling issues, especially those related to the younger generation. I will immediately get to work so as to ensure the victory of the Shiv Sena candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, ” Thakur said.
With Thakur crossing over to the Shiv Sena, the strength of MNS in the MBMC now stands at zero.
