The Palghar police, late on Wednesday night arrested NCB witness in alleged cruise drug bust case Kiran Gosavi in connection with a cheating case registered with Kelva police. Gosavi has been arrested for allegedly cheating two youths on the pretext of offering them lucrative jobs.
Before this, he was arrested by Pune police in a similar case. Last month, he was sent to judicial custody by a local court in Pune. Gosavi was in police custody of Lashkar police station from 11 November, before that he was arrested by Faraskhana police station in a similar case and was kept in custody for 12 days.
He was later sent to judicial custody from where the Palghar police took him their custody. He will be produced before the court on Thursday, said police.
There are two more cheating cases registered against Gosavi at Wanowari police station of Pune City and Bhosari police station in Pimpri Chinchwad.
Gosavi's name surfaced when his selfie with Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan went viral. The selfie was taken in the custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) which arrested the actor's son in the alleged cruse drug bust case.
The controversy erupted when Gosavi's driver Prabhakar Sail, also an independent witness in the case levelled allegations of pay-offs to secure Aryan's arrest and alleged that Rs 50 lakh were accepted by Gosavi from Shah Rukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani. The Mumbai police and NCB both launched independent inquiries into the allegations.
