Mumbai : The Thane Police recently arrested an accused person who was part of a group that had committed a murder of a scrap dealer in the year 2009.
Police sources said that three persons were responsible for the murder of one Pramod Sharma whose body was found in the Shil Daighar area of Thane.
The police had then registered a case of murder and one person, Asiruddin Khan, had been arrested while two others had managed to escape. The motive for the murder was found to be some monetary issue and the killers had dumped the body near a nallah in the area.
Police inquiries later revealed that the two absconding culprits are from Uttar Pradesh and would often visit their hometown to meet their family members. With this information, the police kept a watch at their hometowns along with the UP police and managed to arrest Nizamuddin alias Alimuddin Nasibdar Fakir (52) from Siddharth Nagar area on April 29, the police said.
