Navi Mumbai: CBD Belapur police arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his wife to death after a dispute at their home on Sunday night in Belapur.
There was a frequent quarrel at their houses, said police. The arrested accused was identified as Jaspal Singh Surendra Singh Masuta, a resident of sector 4 in Belapur.
According to the police, the couple used to quarrel frequently and after one such argument, the accused stabbed his wife identified as Rajvindra Kaur Jaspal Singh Surendra Singh Masuta, 32, multiple times with a knife. The victim died due to severe injuries on the spot around 9 pm on March 2, 2023. A case was registered against the husband under section 302 of IPC at CBD Belapur police station.
The accused was arrested in the early hours of the day. “We arrested the accused around 3 am on March 3 and he confessed to have committed the crime,” said a police official from CBD Belapur police.
Similar case in Nhava Sheva
In another case, Nhava Sheva police arrested two persons for allegedly murdering a 38-year-old woman on Saturday night around 10.30 pm. They killed the woman by assaulting her with a paver block. According to police, one of the accused was having some issues with the woman, and on Saturday night, there was an argument with the woman. In a fit of rage, the accused hit the woman with the paver block. Surprisingly, another accused was encouraging him to do so. The victim was identified as Anita alias Aamerdakani Sarawanan Nadar.
According to police, the incident took place in front of the complainant identified as Saloni Herenj, 38, a resident of Shelghar and a native of Jharkhand. Since both the accused were not using mobile phones, it was difficult for police to trace him. However, the police arrested one accused after information received from sources and then another accused who was trying to flee his home state Jharkhand.
