Navi Mumbai: A massive fire broke out in an electronics shop in Turbhe's Sector 21 on Sunday evening. Visuals shared by the news agency IANS showed thick black smoke billowing from the shop.

As the information of the fire was received, fire tenders from Vashi, Nerul, Airoli, and Belapur were called, and efforts are underway to control the blaze. Currently, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and there is no information yet on whether anyone has been injured in the incident.

In a recent fire incident in Chembur, a few dogs and cats were safely evacuated after a fire broke out at Madina Manzil on Friday night. The blaze was caused by a short circuit, and no injuries were reported in the incident.

Local activist Vijay Rangare, in an Instagram post, praised the swift response of firefighters and volunteers and said a resident, Nazma, who feeds stray dogs in the area, had 15 cats and 15 dogs in her flat when the fire broke out. However, fire officials said there were only two cats and dogs, and no major damage was reported.

Prior to that, in Bhiwandi, a major fire incident was reported at the Chamunda Complex, a roadside furniture market located near Kasheli creek along the Bhiwandi–Thane Road. The fire broke out at around 11 am and quickly escalated, engulfing multiple shops within minutes due to the highly combustible nature of the materials stored inside.

According to initial reports, the blaze was suspected to have originated in one of the ground-floor shops and within a short span, the flames spread rapidly to adjacent units, fuelled by wooden furniture, foam, and other flammable items.
