Navi Mumbai: Ahead of monsoon season, CIDCO’s Disaster Control Room to commence operations from June 1 - Check emergency numbers here

The 24 hours Disaster Control Room for the monsoon season will start functioning from June 1 for City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) area. It will be operational till September 30 and is implemented to handle possible disaster occurrences during the season.

According to an official from CIDCO, citizens can report all monsoon related complaints like waterlogging, tree falling, open manholes, fire, among others via phone or WhatsApp.

Every year during the monsoon season, CIDCO operates an Emergency Control Room in Navi Mumbai.

“It has a well-equipped Emergency Control Room which will function from June to September in view of possible calamities/accidents occurring during the monsoon season,” an official said.

“The control room will be open 24 hours including on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. In case of emergency, the staff of important departments like the engineering department, health department, fire department, security department, the garden department will be available 24 hours,” said the public relations officer of CIDCO.

The control room will also take calls related to litter near roads or canals, drowning accidents, fires including pandemics disasters like snake bites, building collapses, landslides, waterlogging.

“We will also put up danger notice boards at stone chip quarries and dilapidated buildings. Security guards will be deployed at accident-prone places,” added the official.
