The Education Department of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has put out a list of contact numbers of coordinators appointed to solve complaints received related to private schools.

The civic education department has appealed to parents to contact the coordinators if their children face any problem while attending classes online.

Due to COVID-induced lockdown and high number of active cases, schools under Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) area has been running online classes. However, the civic body has been constantly getting complaints from parents related to fees, difficulties in attending online classes among others.

In the past the civic body had issued a show-cause notice to erring schools and also warned other schools to not pressurize parents for fees during the COVID period. Despite the repeated warnings, many schools continue to put pressure on parents for fees. There were instances where students were not allowed to attend online classes as their parents could not deposit fees in time.

In order to solve these issues, the civic Education Department has appointed ward wise center coordinators for immediate resolution of such complaints. “The education department also appeals parents to contact to the number issued for any issues related to schools,” said a senior official from the Education department.
