The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday said that light to moderate rainfall is expected today over Mumbai. The weather bureau forecasted that the maximum temperature in the city will be 31°C, while the minimum temperature will be 25°C.
The IMD Mumbai in its weather forecast stated that the maximum temperature in Santacruz will be 30.3°C, while the minimum temperature will be 25.4°C. On the other hand, the maximum temperature in Colaba will be 29°C, while the minimum temperature will be 26°C.
Mumbai will witness cloudy sky with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall today, with a relative humidity of about 89% in Santacruz and 87% in Colaba. The air quality index (AQI) for PM2.5 pollutants – was 31 (Good) on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted that the intensity of rains will pick up next week and has put up a 'watch out' (Yellow Alert) for Mumbai and Thane for August 11.
"In the last 24 hours in Mumbai, Thane received moderate to heavy rainfall. More intensity to suburbs. Satellite images indicate cloudy skies over Mumbai/Konkan. Forecast is moderate Rainfall with intermittent intense spells for next 48 hours in Mumbai & adjoining areas. Southern Konkan region heavy rain from August 10 - August 11. Further increase possible," said K S Hosalikar, deputy director general of IMD, western region.
