Maha CM Uddhav Thackeray to meet PM Modi today over Maratha quota
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday and discuss issues like the Maratha quota and financial aid for cyclone relief measures, state Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil said on Monday.
The meeting is taking place over a month after the Supreme Court squashed a 2018 law providing reservation to the Maratha community in jobs and education in the state.

Maharashtra reports 10,219 cases, lowest since March 9; over 21,000 recover
Maharashtra on Monday reported 10,219 fresh coronavirus positive cases, the lowest after March 9 this year, and 154 fatalities while 21,081 patients were discharged, the state health department said.
With the new additions, Maharashtra's caseload now stands at 58,42,000 and the toll at 1,00,470.
Mumbai reports 728 COVID-19 cases, 28 deaths on June 7
Mumbai reported 728 new COVID-19 cases on June 7, taking the total tally to 7,12,329. Now, there are 15,786 active cases in the city.
City recorded 28 deaths due to coronavirus on Monday which pushed its fatality count to 15,786 as per data released by the city's civic body. 980 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged on Monday taking the recovery count to 6,79,258.
On Monday, 28,076 tests were conducted. May 17 had reported the lowest count rate with just 17,640 tests.

Maharastra Minister demands restoration of OBC political reservation
Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Monday said the Centre must restore 27 per cent political reservation for Other Backward Communities (OBC) in the local self-government.
Adressing a press conference after attending a meeting with leaders of Akhil Bhartiya Mahatma Phule Samta Parishad (ABMPSP), the minister said that OBC community will come out on the roads for their rights if need arises, adding that he will also join Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and raise the issue.
