On Tuesday a 32-year-old president of a school’s managing committee was arrested by Uran police for allegedly molesting a 7-year-old girl student.
According to Hindustan Times, the incident took place on April 12, when the accused visited the school, he took the Class 1 student to a vacant room. After taking the 7-year-old girl to a vacant room, the accused molested her. The incident came to light when a few other students spotted the accused through a window and raised an alarm.
The 32-year-old accused would visit the school frequently and was allowed to enter classrooms because of the position he held. Later those students informed the girl’s parents who approached the police. The cops have filed an FIR and arrested the accused in early hours of Thursday. The girl’s parents alleged the accused had molested students in the past too. The cops have booked the accused under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012.
