In a shocking incident, the Arnala police have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly murdering his friend over the financial tiff, cutting his body, and flushing the parts down a toilet in Virar.
According to Indian Express, the incident came to light after body parts and chunks of flesh were found in the septic tank of a society in Virar, and that is when the police were informed. The accused has been identified as Pintu Sharma and the deceased has been identified as Ganesh Kolatkar (35). The incident took place on January 16, when the accused brought Ganesh Kolatkar to his recently rented flat at Bachraj Paradise Society in Virar.
The accused, who is a friend Ganesh Kolatkar, started mocking Kolatkar over marriage. The accused told the Kolatkar that he is too old to get married, following which the duo got into a spat. “Kolatkar tried walking away from the fight but Sharma pushed him and he fell, hurting his head,” a police official told the leading daily. After this, the accused with a cutter started dismembering his body and flushed the body pieces down the toilet.
Next day, the residents of the society complained of choked washrooms, and while cleaning the septic tank, the cleaners found chunks of flesh after which the residents informed the police. The police started looking for locked houses in the society, and that is when they came across Pintu Sharma’s house. The accused already has an abduction case registered against him at Waliv police station and, during interrogation, he has confessed to killing Kolatkar.
