Amidst a rise in the footfall at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), from Tuesday onward, the Ola and Uber pick up location, which was previously at multi-level car parking (MLCP) level P7 at T2 will be shifted to level P4. To provide a quick exit, P4 will now be available for all cab pick ups, such as black and yellow taxis and cool cabs, amongst others.
"This shift will benefit passengers by reducing the pick up time and providing easy access from arrival gates. For a convenient transit, the CSMIA has made necessary arrangements to inform passengers of this change," the statement read.
Prajakta Nehete, an investment banker, who is a frequent air traveller, said that a common pick up location for all cabs makes it easier for passengers to exit T2. "This makes it better, as we need not search which level is accommodated for cab aggregators and which is for black and yellow taxis," Nehete added.
The CSMIA has placed dedicated signages across the arrival to the P4 parking stand in a strategic manner. It has also set up a help desk and a devoted team to guide passengers. It has also placed stringent standard operating procedures (SOP) and issued mandatory guidelines to all authorised cab services and drivers operating to and from the CSMIA.
