Mumbai: 60-year-old man killed after vehicle he agrees to drive for his neighbour crashes

In a shocking incident, on Tuesday a 60-year-old man was killed after the vehicle he agreed to drive for his neighbours crashed on the Mumbai-Pune expressway.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Naigaon residents Shashikant Kadam (60), wife Kalpana Kadam (47), son Saurabh Kadam (19), and a relative Sharada Kadam (65), planned a visit to their hometown in Satara district. But as Shashikan was not comfortable with driving, the family approached one of their neighbour, Mohan Kashinath Argade. Argade agreed to drive the Kadam family.

The accident took place when the car had got over 7 km out if Mumbai, that is when Argade misjudged a sharp turn and lost control. After which the car hit the road divider and overturned twice. After the accident the passer-bys informed the police but by the time they arrived, Argade succumbed. While the other passengers sustained injuries. The cops have booked  the deceased under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act andfor rash driving, endangering the life of several people, and causing death by negligence of the IPC.
