Mumbai: On Wednesday, two men from Bihar were arrested by Sahar police, who seized fake tickets of a private airline and Visa for the United Arab Emirates from the accused duo.

The duo was first detained by the immigration officers on the basis of suspicion and was later arrested after their tickets and visas were found to be fake. According to the police, the arrested duo, Mohammed Ishaq Mohammed Hussain (32) and Vishvanath Gunyadas (31), had come from Bihar and were to board a flight to Sharjah on Wednesday night.

During their profiling, the officials got suspicious and detained Hussain and Gunyadas for a thorough investigation at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). The immigration officers checked their tickets to Sharjah and tourist visas, which were fake. Police said, both the accused were to return from Sharjah on May 15.

However, after they were found with fake travel documents, police were informed of the incident and were taken to Sahar police station. The duo was arrested on Wednesday after detailed questioning. They revealed they had acquired the fake tickets and visas with the help of a travel agent, Mohammed Alamgir, who constantly was guiding them over WhatsApp.

“We suspected Hussain and Gunyadas were victims of fake job syndicate and were cheated by Alamgir, who had promised them a job in Sharjah. Alamgir had arranged for the fake tourist visa so that they could pass every checkpoint at the airport easily,” said an investigating officer.

Hussain and Gunyadas were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for cheating (section 420) and common intention (section 34). They were produced in a local magistrate court on Thursday and were remanded in police custody till Wednesday. Meanwhile, police are investigating the matter further and have initiated a search operation for their agent, Alamgir.
