Mumbai: In a shocking incident, one teenager, Ashok Maurya, has been missing since March 28, last year, from his neighbourhood in Indira Nagar, Mulund West. The boy was returning home from his father’s fruit shop. Ashok’s father Shambhu has left no stone unturned, but is sad saying he has failed to find his son. He visited every place with a glimmer of hope, which he thinks his son must have visited.

For the last 10 months, Shambhu has met politicians and also visited the Mulund police station several times, only to be told, ‘no luck’. He even met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who too just gave him assurances, says Shambhu. “I have met the DCP Akhilesh Singh several times but he always tells the same thing that we are working on the case in a different way and will soon find the boy,” said Shambhu.

Shambhu, who says they were once a happy family, resides in Mulund. Things suddenly turned upside down in March last year. Ashok would help his father in his fruit selling business. On the fateful day, Ashok was returning home from his shop, never to reach. Since then no one has seen him. Akhilesh Singh, DCP (Zone 7) told The Free Press Journal, “There are many missing cases registered everyday and we are working on it.”
