Bhayandar : In a move aimed at enhancing the efficiency of his work force, civic chief Suresh Kakani ordered a major reshuffle in the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC).

In the first leg of phase-wise reshuffle, all head clerks and senior clerks representing Class III section have been transferred. Process was on to rearrange posting of the entire staff comprising all junior clerks and peons from Class IV division. To start with, seven head clerks and 23 senior clerks have been directed to take charge of their new departments with immediate effect, tagged with a warning of action against those who delay in taking charge of new postings or try to exert political pressure to cancel the transfer orders.

“We have planned a phase-wise and cadre-wise reshuffle process which will definitely enhance the quality of our work force,” Kakani claimed.

It should be noted here that a large section of staffers have been holding the same posts for a considerable period of time. This is the first time in the history of MBMC that such a massive internal reshuffle has been initiated by any commissioner.
