Maharashtra record 10,891 new COVID-19 cases; 16,577 patients discharged

The daily COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra have started showing a downward trend. The state on Tuesday recorded 10,891 fresh cases, taking the number of active cases to 1,67,927. Besides, 295 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the day, taking the number of total fatalities to 1,01,172.

16,577 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally to 55,80,925. The recovery rate in the state rose to 95.35%. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.73%.

Currently, 11,53,147 people are in home quarantine and 6,225 people are in institutional quarantine.

The Mumbai circle--which consists of MCGM, Thane, TMC, Navi Mumbai, KDMC, Ulhasnagar MC, Bhivandi Nijampur MC, Mira Bhayandar MC, Palghar, Vasai Virar MC, Raigad, Panvel MC--recorded 2022 new cases.

The Nashik circle--which consists of Nashik, Nashik MC, Malegaon MC, Ahmednagar, Ahmednagar MC, Dhule, Dhule MC, Jalgaon, Jalgaon MC, Nandurbar--reported 953 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The Pune circle--which includes Pune, PMC, PCMC, Solapur, Solapur MC, Satara--recorded 2552 new cases.

The Kolhapur circle reported 3614 new cases, Aurangabad circle 371, Latur circle 377, Akola circle 751, and Nagpur circle recorded 376 new COVID-19 cases.
