Mumbai : The Mumbai police will be deploying over 2,000 policemen at the Wankhede stadium for the swearing-in ceremony of the 27th Chief Minister of Maharashtra on October 31.
Besides the 2,000 cops, there will be additional platoons of Quick Response Team (QRT) and the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) manning the area.
“Additional DCPs, taking the total to six will be posted at Wankhede Stadium too,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (South Region) Krishna Prakash who will be in-charge of the bandobast. Besides him, Additional Commissioner of Police (Speical Branch–I) will be present at the venue too.
While this is the bandobast at Wankhede Stadium, sources informed that the Majestic MLA Hostel in Colaba where Devendra Fadnavis has been staying for several years has been provided with 46 policemen, including three marksmen for his protection. This security is being provided by the Special Branch-I of the Mumbai police.
