Bhayandar : Yet another scam stumbled out from the closets of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), when the District Judiciary, directed the Bhayandar police to register an FIR against four people including former municipal commissioner, Shivmurthi Naik, his deputy Sudhir Raut and another employee, Govind Parab, for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices implied to recruit an under-qualified X-Ray technician at the civic hospital.

The directions followed after social activist- Santosh Baswant- filed a complaint with the First Class Judicial Magistrate, Thane district, seeking directions (under Section 156(3) of the Cr Pc) to the police to register a FIR under Sections-420, 415, 417 and 34 of the IPC.

In his plea, Baswant contended that the MBMC had floated advertisement on September 27, 2009 to recruit an X-Ray technician for the municipal hospital. However, the civic chief and other accused officials who were on the recruitment panel illegally appointed- Bhushan Raghu Dandgidas (28) as X-Ray technician without proper screening of documents, this despite the fact that Dandgidas was not qualified for the job.

When contacted Assistant Police Inspector, Pullarwar, confirmed that a FIR has been registered and investigations were on.
