Mumbai: Mumbai will soon witness a five-day mega Diksha Maha-Mahotsav of 44 Diksharthis. The mahotsav will be held from March 9-13 at Chikoo Wadi, Borivali. Speaking about the event, Hitesh Mota, head of Adhyatm Parivar and Trustees, said many people feel the need to renounce the world.
“We have been trained in such a way we feel we don’t need anything more in life. Therein lies the happiness. When we have renounced everything, we are left with happiness, contentment and selflessness,” said Diksharthi Rinkukumari.
Another Diksharthi said the common aim of renunciation binds them like a family. “It’s a family afterall. There is nothing like mentor-disciple relationship. Rather, it’s more of a mother-daughter and father-son feeling. We share every bit of day life, and they guide us through it all. And we never miss our families, as we are involved here and have our each day planned,” said Diksharthi Kriyakumari.
Jain Diksharthis in the age group of 12 to 66 years will take diksha. Among the 44 Diksharthis, 17 are from Mumbai, 21 from Gujarat, five from Rajasthan and one from Kolkata. Most are graduates, and many hold high posts in renowned companies, while some belong to rich families.
Devendra Fadnavis, the CM and admirer of tyag-dharma, met Diksharthis on February 17 and felicitated them. He accepted their invitation to attend the mahotsav. He stated: “It is very difficult to take diksha and wished them the best. He prayed after the Diksha Maha–Mahotsav, the Diksharthis would bless society.”
