Bhayandar : Yet another high-profile sex racket in Bhayandar was unearthed by sleuths of the Anti-Human Trafficking wing of the Thane (rural) police, late on Friday evening.
While two girls were rescued, a female pimp identified as Geeta (30) has been arrested and booked under section 370 of the IPC and relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
Following specific information about flesh trade activities, a police team led by API Sachin Gavas established contact and struck a deal with the pimp through a decoy customer.
Subsequently, a trap was laid near Kharigaon Junction in Bhayandar (east) on Friday. While the rescued girls, who turned out to be residents of Nallasopara, were sent to a rehabilitation centre, the accused pimp was arrested and handed over to the Navghar police.
