Mumbai: Nanar refinery is once again in the news, as CM Devendra Fadnavis would neither confirm nor reject reports of relocating the project. Dhananjay Munde, leader of Opposition in the legislative council has demanded a clear stand from Fadnavis. In response to the news item published in FPJ on Tuesday, ‘BJP gives in to Sena demand, may move Nanar refinery project to Raigad’ Munde took to social media.

He questioned, “There is a lot of confusion over Nanar refinery. It seems that Sena and BJP are hands in glove to cheat people in Konkan. The CM must immediately clarify the Maharashtra government’s stand on Nanar refinery.” Fadnavis had said ‘the refinery project has not been cancelled and further said that the project will not be shifted from Nanar.’ However, Fadnavis had already stayed the project and had announced it in the Assembly, during the winter session held in Mumbai, last November.

The Sena leader on request of confidentiality accused the CM of cheating their party. “He committed in the Assembly that he has stayed the project. However, now we have been given to understand, the project was not scrapped, but it was a stay for a temporary period on the acquisition of land,” said the Sena leader. He further said, if there was no alliance with Sena, Fadnavis would have certainly allowed to set up the project at Nanar.
