Mumbai: Raising question over Bharatiya Janata Party’s oath taking ceremony at Hutatma Smarak on Sunday, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray asked whether BJP will take oath for Akhand (United) Maharashtra. He warned that Shiv Sena will not allow bifurcation of Maharashtra. He also mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s style of appealing ‘mitro’ and said that in “upcoming days, you will hear such words but ignore it, and for Mumbai’s development, you should vote for Shiv Sena only.”
BJP always remained a supporter of small states and it is the agenda of the BJP to separate Vidarbha statehood carved out from Maharashtra. In this context, Thackeray, while addressing election campaign rally at Bhandup and Mulund on Sunday, asked BJP whether it will take an oath for a united Maharashtra. “Shiv Sena will not allow to break Maharashtra, not a single inch land will be allowed to bifurcate from united Maharashtra to carve out separate Vidarbha”, he warned.
He said that BJP need to teach Sena about transparency in BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation administration. “If BJP is transparent, then why did the state not give permission to the proposal building power generation centre at BMC owned Vaitarana dam?” he questioned.
He further said, BJP always says BMC will construct coastal road but asked why the project does not get permission when BJP is in power at the state and at the Centre.
Thackeray also criticised PM Modi for his assurance of ‘Achche Din’ and demonetisation move. “People died in a queue of banks to get their own money from the bank. Hundreds of people became unemployed after demonetisation move. Will you compensate them? Will you give employment to these people? Do you think that black money hoarding has been stopped? Do you think terrorism and terrorist attack has stopped? He raised number of questions.
While speaking on seat sharing issue, he said, “The Shiv Sainik will work hard in his area for five years. It is the Sainik only who is responsible to strengthen Shiv Sena and we will become stronger in future.” He added that the chief minister who spoke against Sena does not remain CM. Prithviraj Chavan is the example,” he said.
He challenged BJP to have a fight. “Let us have a fight, let the final result come from this fight,” he said. He also gave election promises to the voters in both Bhandup and Mulund rally.
