BHAYANDAR: In an attempt to create awareness about the declining sex ratio, preventing violence against women and at the same time dealing with the problem of shrinking greenery, the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has developed “Maa-Beti” park themed with the topic Beti Bachao-Beti Padao (Save Daughters, Educate Daughters) at the entrance of Jesal Park in Bhayandar (E).
“Our society is prejudiced and people still have priorities for sons. We aim to make people realise that there is no difference between them. Girls should be welcomed with dignity and love,” said local corporator Shanu Gohil from whose funds the park has been developed.
