Bhayandar: Continuing their action aimed at flushing out illegal immigrants from the twin-city, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Thane (rural) police, apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals for their unauthorized stay in the country on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Assistant Police Inspector- Sunil Shinde, under the instructions of SP- Dr. Shivaji Rathod, rounded up the migrants suspected to be of Bangladeshi origin from the Gaurav Valley area of Kashimira.
After the suspects who hailed from remote villages in Kaliya district of Narowal (Bangladesh) failed to produce legitimate documents to authorize their stay in the country, they were arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Passport Act and Foreigners Act, police said.
