Mumbai : Considering the rising needs of people for healthcare in Navi Mumbai, the Apollo Hospitals group will now start a hospital in Navi Mumbai that will also cater to patients living in Panvel, Taloja, Raigad and surrounding areas.
The Navi Mumbai Apollo Hospital will be a 500-bed multi-specialty tertiary care hospital that will employ state-of-the-art equipment and cutting edge technology in order to provide the best possible treatment for patients.
The strategy behind choosing the location close to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway was that this would enable the hospital authorities to provide emergency medical services of the highest quality in the case of road accidents, informed hospital sources.
The hospital will have a 17-bed emergency ward, 120-bed ICU and round-the-clock emergency physicians.
Explaining the rationale behind the location, Dr Narendra Trivedi, CEO, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai, said, “Navi Mumbai is developing fast and patients sometimes have to go to Mumbai and Pune for healthcare. Looking at the need to minimise travel, as time is critical to save lives, the upcoming hospital will also cater to Panvel, Taloja, Raigad and surrounding areas.”
