Mumbai : Famous actors Sachin Pilgaonkar and his wife Supriya have reportedly been cheated of Rs 35 lakh by a Pune-based woman. The actors have launched a complaint at Versova police station and the case is being investigated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
According to reports, the celebrity duo met the woman at a function a few days ago where she told them that she deal in sale of cars. As the couple was planning to buy a BMW, they struck a deal with the woman who promised them a brand new BMW at Rs 35 lakh. Accordingly, Sachin gave the said amount to the woman, who allegedly fled with the money.
“On Wednesday, when the couple realised they had been duped, they approached the police and launched a complaint of cheating,” said an official from Versova police station. “The case is now being investigated by EOW of Mumbai Police Crime Branch.”
FPJ contacted the official from EOW, but he refused to comment on the matter.
