Mumbai : In a horrific case of a 40-year-old father raping his two daughters, the Charkop police have revealed that the accused is suffering from Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The police came to know about it when they took the accused to the hospital for a medical check-up.
The Charkop police have informed that the man’s wife was aware about his heinous activities and that he had AIDS, but did not tell anyone because she was afraid that her and her family’s reputation will get tarnished. According to sources, the accused was raping her elder daughter since 2005. He started the same with his younger daughter a month before the arrest.
The accused was taken to Shatabdi hospital for a medical check-up. When the doctors came to know about his medicines, they told the police that he is suffering from AIDS. He is in an initial stage of AIDS and is under medication for several years now.
According to the police, the accused is a resident of Kandivali (west) and is a carpenter by profession. The police have said that the accused’s wife was in her village when he was apprehended by the police. The accused has two daughters and three sons. His heinous activities came to light when his daughter approached the Charkop police with the help of their neighbour.
After the accused raped his younger daughter, who is 12 years old, she informed her elder sister. The police have admitted both the sisters at Sion hospital. After the arrest, the police are taking care of the other three siblings as their mother is not in town and will reach the city in a few days, and the father is behind bars. “We have arrested the accused under section 376 of the IPC,” said a police officer.
