Indore: Jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh found in lockers of Haider’s brother-in-law

Indore: Lokayukta police on Tuesday found jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh in the bank lockers of state food supply department manager Salman Haider’s bother-in-law.

Besides, Rs 88,000 were found in the lockers. Lokayukta police had raided houses of Haider on Monday and unearthed assets worth crores, which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The sleuths received details of bank lockers of his brother-in-law Ammar. One locker was in Union Bank of India’s Narsingh Bazaar branch in which jewellery worth Rs 70,000 was found.

In another locker in State Bank of India’s Agrawal Nagar, jewellery worth over Rs 10 lakh was found. Besides, Rs 88,000 were found in lockers.

Meanwhile, Haider who is posted at Katni came to city on Tuesday morning and recorded his statements before Lokayukta police. In his statement, Haider claimed that he owns only two flats and has no clue about rest of the properties.

He said registration papers of other properties are not in his name, so he doesn’t know about those properties. Lokayukta police had revealed that Haider, his family and close relatives own six flats, seven plots, one house, 10 acres of land and five expensive SUVs and cars.

The sleuths also found details of nearly a dozen bank accounts. Lokayukta police stated that they have written letters to banks seeking amount in bank accounts.
