Indian designer Manish Malhotra has cancelled his latest Luxury Pret collection showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week 2026 after his mother, Sudarshan Malhotra, passed away on March 19 in Mumbai. The show had been scheduled for Saturday, March 21, but will no longer take place, as confirmed by the designer's team. The last rites were held on March 20 at the Hindu Crematorium, Santa Cruz West.

Ace Indian designer Manish Malhotra has cancelled his couture showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI 2026 following the passing of his mother, Sudarshan Malhotra, who died on the night of March 19 in Mumbai. The show had been scheduled for Saturday, March 21, but will no longer take place, as confirmed by the designer's team.

Manish was slated to unveil his latest Luxury Pret collection on Day 3 of Lakmé Fashion Week at 9:30 PM, promising his signature blend of glamour, craftsmanship, and red carpet-ready drama. Presented in association with NEXA, the showcase was expected to draw major celebrity attention. It will, however, no longer take place.

Both the world of cinema and couture have been left saddened by the loss. Manish's team released an official statement confirming the news, writing, "With gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we share the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Mrs Sudarshan Malhotra, at the age of 94. Having been blessed with a long and fulfilling journey, she leaves behind cherished memories, generations of love and a legacy that will continue to guide us."

Later, Manish took to his Instagram to share a picture of his beloved mother, with a heartfelt caption: "Love and Miss you Forever 🩷🙏"

Sudarshan Malhotra's last rites were held on March 20, 2026, at 10 AM at the Hindu Crematorium, Santa Cruz West, Mumbai, where many celebrities like Karan Johar, Rakul Preet Singh, Khushi Kapoor and others attended it.
