Madhya Pradesh: Khachrod in Ujjain district logs 4 corona cases in 2 days, tally ten, cause of worry for local administration

KHACHROD (UJJAIN DISTRICT): With the start of unlock process in the Ujjain district, the number of corona patients are again rising in Khachrod.

In two days, four persons have tested positive for corona taking the patients tally to 10 in Khachrod.

With the opening of markets, shoppers are flocking the shops in the area. Farmers are turning up at agricultural produce market to sale their produce. Tehsil and district headquarters are witnessing huge footfalls of shoppers and farmers.

As sowing season is underway, farmers are forced to visit district headquarters to raise finance and to procure various items including seeds, equipment, fertilisers.

The local administration is watching the situation closely, said an official. Administration is concerned that the corona positive cases in Khachrod and nearby villages had stopped but with the increase in market activities cases are on the rise again, he added.

Locals and shopkeepers have a big role to play during unlock as many are stopped wearing masks. Such negligence will make the situation worse, he added.

Political activities of BJP and Congress ahead of civic body elections is another area of concern as it may lead to lowering of guard and more cases of corona.
