Indore: Plans to vaccinate 1.2L in two days, vaccination sites increased to 302

Indore: With the aim to intensify vaccination drives and to inoculate the population at the earliest, the health department has increased the vaccination sites to 302 on Thursday.

Moreover, the department has the target of vaccinating over 1.2 lakh people in two days.

“By increasing the number of sites to 302, we could vaccinate about 51,000 people on Thursday including over 46,000 people between age 18 and 44 years. We are also focusing on vaccinating people above 45 years and have started drive-in vaccinations at six places of the city,” district immunisation officer Dr Pravin Jadia said.

He added that they have also started vaccinating the people of focused groups including domestic helps, vegetable vendors, drivers and others who cannot get their online slots booked.

Immunization Officer Dr Tarun Gupta said, “Over 12.42 lakh doses have been administered in the city including over 10.27 lakh people administered with the first dose and also over 2.14 lakh people with the second dose of the vaccine.”

He said that over 77 per cent of health care workers have been fully vaccinated while 58 per cent of the frontline workers have been vaccinated with both the doses.

Over 12 lakh vaccinated with first dose

Over 12 lakh people of Indore have been vaccinated with the first dose of vaccine so far including 3.5 lakh people between the age group of 18 and 44.

“We have the target to vaccinate over 18 lakh people of the age 18 and 44 years and we have vaccinated over 3.59 lakh people which is 20 per cent of the target,” immunisation officer Dr Tarun Gupta said.
