Indore: This pandemic has well taught us all the significance of trees. Most of the time we think of planting trees but fail to do so. Here is your chance to contribute to the conservation of the ecosystem.

A group of volunteers at the city zoo has introduced a new initiative - Seed Ball Carnival. This is a unique concept, where everyone can join and all you have to do is collect seeds of various fruits/trees/vegetables and handover to the volunteers' team.

These seeds will be prepared into a ball of soil and manure and will be dispersed all around in the outskirts of the city.

The team is accepting seeds all kinds of common trees/plants like Papaya, Watermelon, Neem, Mango, Cheeku, Muskmelon, Peepal, Amaltas, Orange, Mausambi and whichever one can collect.

Collect the seeds, dry them a bit and hand them over to NGO team at the Indore Zoo.

To make seed balls, two seeds are taken & mixed with 4 parts soil & 1 part manure (cowdung) and are rolled into small balls. These can even be stored up to 2 years before planting.

On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June, the team will carry out this unique initiative with a target to disperse 5000+ seed balls.

Anyone can be a part of the project and collect seeds at home and had them over to a team named ARPF. People can contact on 8989733191 and can give seeds till 15 June 2021.
