Indore: The Immigration facilities at the city airport would be provided at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport well before the maiden international flight from here to Sharjah takes off on the scheduled March 31 deadline. Initially, state police may be deployed to offer Immigration facilities. Following the site visit of the space for Immigration facilities by a team of officers of the ministry of home affairs led by an Under Secretary on Thursday, a meeting of high ranking officers was held on Friday at the airport.
Owing to the imposition of Model Code of Conduct, the top officials refused to divulge details of the meeting. Sources informed that the meeting was attended by Collector Lokesh Kumar Jatav, SSP Ruchivardhan Mishran, members of the MHA team and Airport Director Aryama Sanyal. Sources said it was decided that the immigration facility would be made available at the airport well before March 31. The location of setting-up of the server of Bureau of Immigration (BoI) was also discussed. Sources said it may be possible that initially immigration facility may be availed by the state police. In such a case, the officers of BoI will offer training to some personnel of the state police.
