Indore: First time in its 115 yr history, E-Lok Adalat to be held district court today

DLSO Singh said that the E-Lok Adalat is mainly organised for providing relief to people involved in Motor accident claim cases.

Indore: For the first time in its 115-year history, E-Lok Adalat will be held at the district court on Saturday to settle Motor Accident Claim cases. The district court started functioning in Indore in 1905. The bench of seven additional judges will constitute the E-Lok Adalat.

The District Legal Authority Officer (DLSO), Digvijay Singh said that the E-Lok Adalat will be held under the leadership of District Judge and Chairman, District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Sushil Kumar Sharma. All the work and preparation for the E-Lok Adalat is complete under the supervision of Additional District Judge and Secretary (DLSA), Manish Kumar Shrivastav.

The ADJ Shrivastav said, "We have organised a E-Lok Adalat under which nobody is required to be present physically or on a video conference. In the E-Lok Adalat we have taken all the Motor Accident Claim cases which can be settled and then contacted both the parties involved in the case. We asked them to settle their issue amongst them over a voice call, video call or any other means and submit their application for E-Lok Adalat to the DLSA."

The DLSA received many applications for presentation before the E-Lok Adalat, and as many as 250 or more cases will be resolved by the bench of the judges.

DLSO Singh said, "considering the Covid-19 pandemic situation in Indore, the District Judge and Chairman Manish Shrivastav has directed all the presiding officers of judicial bench, advocates, litigants and other participants to follow the social distancing, use of mask and sanitiser and adhere to the directions issued by Hon'ble High Court of MP regarding the same".

He said that in the seven bench of judges, there will be six adj for Indore which includes Joginder Singh (17th Adj), Sudheer Kumar (13th Adj Indore), Ashutosh Shukla (21st Adj Indore), Shahabuddin Hashmi (27th Adj Indore), Anil Kumar Karoriya, (25th Adj Indore) and Manish Bhatt (10th Adj Indore). For Tehsil court in Dr Ambedkar Nagar there will be Vikash Chandra Mishra, (1st Adj Dr Ambedkar Nagar).

DLSO Singh said that the E-Lok Adalat is mainly organised for providing relief to people involved in Motor accident claim cases. On disposal of the case, there are chances that the victim will get compensation which will help the person economically.
