Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee announced a special cultural evening under the Shivotsav Shravan Kala Utsav in Ujjain on Aug 23.
The committee said the programme was scheduled to begin at 7 pm at Shaktipath, opposite the Triveni Museum, on the premises of the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple.
It organised the event in coordination with the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Culture Department.
Popular Shiva devotional singer Hansraj Raghuwanshi was invited to perform at the cultural evening.
The organisers said he would present several of his well-known devotional songs and bhajans dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Singer Kishan Bhagat was also invited to perform during the programme. The committee expected performances by both singers to create a devotional and spiritual atmosphere at Shaktipath.
A large number of devotees, local residents and visitors were expected to attend the cultural evening.
The committee organised the Shivotsav Shravan Kala Utsav during the holy months of Shravan and Bhadrapada.
During this period, thousands of devotees from different parts of the country visited Ujjain to offer prayers to Lord Mahakaleshwar.
The organisers said the event aimed to provide devotees with a spiritual experience. It also sought to introduce visitors to different forms of Indian art, music and culture through devotional and cultural programmes.
Officials said religious music played an important role in creating a peaceful atmosphere for pilgrims visiting the temple.
They hoped the performances would make the visit more memorable for devotees and strengthen their connection with Lord Shiva.
The Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee invited devotees and Ujjain residents to attend the programme in large numbers.
It said arrangements were made to welcome visitors and ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
The committee also announced that no entry fee would be charged for the programme. Devotees and other visitors could attend the cultural evening free of cost.
