Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): The Tal culvert near Singoli on the Kota - Neemuch main road overflowed due to heavy rainfall on Thursday morning. Locals risked their lives to cross the overflowing culvert as it did not have any support of railing on either side.
The administration temporarily closed the road as a precaution which caused severe traffic jam stretching approximately one and a half kilometres. Vehicles were stuck in the deadly traffic jam since morning amid the downpour. School buses and passenger vehicles were caught in the gridlock.

Local administration arrived at the scene to manage the traffic by redirecting vehicle to an alternative route. However, the poor condition of rural roads offered only little relief to commuters. Expressing their frustration, locals said that prolonged road blockages have become a common phenomenon during monsoon.
They demanded the authorities to construct a higher and wider culvert to ensure public safety and swiftly manage traffic as the blocked route serves as a vital connection between Kota, Singoli, Neemuch and the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border.
