More and more leaders continue to desert Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati in Uttar Pradesh. On Saturday, former minister and senior BSP leader Ambika Chaudhury joined Samajwadi Party.
The Samajwadi Party rewarded Chaudhury by announcing the name of his son as the party nominee for the forthcoming Zila Panchayat chairman elections. While resigning from BSP, Chaudhury said that he was feeling neglected in the party since 2019 parliament elections. He said that since the son is Samajwadi Party nominee in the Zila Panchayat polls now it would be immoral for him to remain in BSP.
Earlier this week seven BSP legislators had met with the Samajwadi party Chief Akhilesh Yadav at his residence and intended to join him. According to SP leaders, more leaders from BSP and other parties may join in coming days. A large number of BSP leaders have left party in the recent days to join other parties. Ahead of UP state assembly polls number of turncoats is increasing. Few days back congress leader and former union minister Jitin Prasad had joined BJP. Prasad on Saturday reached UP BJP office for the first time and also paid visit to the chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
Meanwhile BSP supremo Mayawati has lashed out at Akhilesh Yadav and said that petty leaders from her party are joining SP. She said that the legislators who met with Akhilesh were already suspended from BSP . She said that very soon leaders from other parties will join BSP.
